How to Create Address Labels on Mac

Sending out invitations, cards and announcements to friends and family is a great way to keep in touch. Whether it’s Christmas, New Year’s or another occasion, you can easily create and print custom address labels on mac for your mailing needs.

Creating Address Labels on the Mac

If you’re still sending out physical mail, then you’re probably tired of using standard Word and Pages templates for your envelopes, postcards, newsletters or other mailing labels. It’s time to get creative and start creating your own unique label designs.

Thankfully, there are many applications available in the Mac App Store that are specifically designed for printing addresses on envelopes and other paper items. These apps are a huge timesaver and will help you avoid having to spend hours handwriting every address that you want printed on your envelopes.

Printing Address Labels From Microsoft Excel

The most efficient way to print address labels from an Excel spreadsheet is by using the Mail Merge feature. Using this feature, you can create a template sheet of labels from your mailing list and transfer them into a printer ready to be printed.

To use this method, first add your data to an Excel spreadsheet and prepare your list by organizing the column names in the columns you need to include on your mailing labels. This will make it easier for Word to recognize the values in your data source. Next, enter the information you want to include in the labels and omit any fields that don’t apply.

Once you have your data ready, create a table that fits the size of your label template. In Pages, click on the table, but don’t have a cell selected-the rows and columns should be visible and any cell that is outlined will not have the gridlines activated (they’ll turn white).

From there, you can add information to your label. You can also customize the look of your address label by adjusting its fonts, spacing and colors.

After you’ve customized your address label, choose the option to save it as a template so that you can use it again in the future. You can then print your label from File > Print, or simply open it in Pages for editing.

How to Create a Mailing List on Your Mac

Regardless of the type of label you’re going to use, you’ll need to collect the mailing addresses for the people you’re sending them to. You can do this by either creating a mailing list in the Contacts application on your Mac or by using a third-party service to maintain your address list.

You can also add addresses to your list by copying and pasting them from a list that you’ve created elsewhere on your computer. This is a great way to make sure that the addresses you’re printing on your label sheets are accurate and complete.
